Study trips
The Chair of Shipbuilding regularly organises excursions to companies in the shipbuilding industry or in marine engineering. Participation in excursions is mandatory for the Master's degree programme in Shipbuilding and Ocean Engineering. However, they also offer exciting impressions and good opportunities to get to know potential future employers and are thus also interesting for Bachelor students.
Interested?
Contact us and let us know your interest in participating, so that we can keep you informed about news in the planning. Just send an email to junheng.zhanguni-rostockde indicating which of the trips you would like to participate in (more than one is possible, of course).
Currently planned study trips
We are currently planning the following study trips for the winter semester 2024/25
Atlas Elektronik and Fassmer Shipyard
In Bremen the Fassmer shipyard and Atlas Elektronik company will be visited. Atlas builds electronics and equipment for maritime applications and underwater technology, while the Fassmer shipyard builds several types of ships. On the one hand, almost all lifeboats on large ships come from Fassmer, and on the other hand, research vessels, ferries and pilot boats are also launched there.

16th of January 2024 - Meyer Neptun Engineering
Meyer Neptun Engineering is part of the Meyer group in Papenburg. Among others, this design department develops river cruise vessels that are built at the Meyer Neptun shipyard also located in Rostock. The design department gave an insight into production planning as a guest lecture on the course CA Ship Design. During a subsequent tour of the shipyard, an already built ship section could be explored.
